Tecumseh Soccer Club Propelled Towards Promising Future Thanks to OTF Grant
Tecumseh ON – Tecumseh Soccer Club (TSC) was awarded an $85,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in March of 2022 to help them rebuild and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the Club’s operational costs.
“I’ve witnessed the great community work of Tecumseh Soccer Club for the better part of a decade,” said Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor—Tecumseh. “Their strong community ties and supportive team play for our local youth are continued enrichments for our community and I’m delighted to see this incredible support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.”
The OTF grant, awarded over 12 months, supported the Club with staffing costs, upgrading training facilities and equipment, enhancing youth development programs to nurture the skills and talents to you athletes, and expanding community outreach programs to encourage broader participation in soccer.
"We are absolutely elated that we received this grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation," said Shandel Jewell, Club President/Chairperson. "This funding was instrumental in advancing our mission to provide accessible and top-notch soccer programs for players of all ages and skill levels. This grant created new programs such as our mini’s program and entry level junior coaching pathway. Both these programs have promoted growth and promise for the future of our club.
The Tecumseh Soccer Club is a not-for-profit organization in the province of Ontario, Canada. The Club was formed in 1999 with the merging of the Tecumseh Soccer Club and the North Shore Soccer Club that existed within Tecumseh, thus bringing together the competitive and recreational programs. They are committed to leading the development, promotion and administration of the game of soccer while providing quality service, communication and education to their members.
